MOXIE MANDARIN

In January 2023, Rachel Chen sought assistance from Pace SBDC advisor Sandra Cely to secure financing for her small business Moxie Mandarin, a language education company dedicated to teaching children Mandarin through engaging activities in an interactive and immersive environment. Sandra reviewed financing options and related requirements and connected Rachel with Jose Made and Jessica Mojica from Ascendus.

With guidance from Sandra and assistance from Ascendus, Rachel successfully obtained $27,500 from the NYC Small Business Opportunity Fund, which played a crucial role in funding her business. Additionally, recognizing the need for effective marketing, Pace SBDC Business Advisor Susan Gluck provided valuable insights to develop a robust marketing strategy for Moxie Mandarin’s launch.
