Pace SBDC receives Excellence & Innovation Award
This year National Small Business Week was held from May 5- May 11 to celebrate the impact that outstanding small business owners from across the nation have on their communities, and recognize organizations that support America's small businesses. As part of the celebration, the US Small Business Administration (SBA) hosted an awards ceremony at the Microsoft Technology Center in midtown.
At the event, the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was recognized with Small Business Development Center of Excellence & Innovation awards from the SBA’s New York District as well as from SBA Region II, which serves New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and The U.S. Virgin Islands. Center Director Andrew Flamm accepted the awards from SBA Regional Administrator Steve Bulger and New York District Director Beth Goldberg on behalf of the Pace SBDC team, and made brief remarks referencing services that the NYSBDC network offers to help entrepreneurs grow their small businesses and generate jobs and economic impact.
The Pace SBDC was also pleased to celebrate National Small Business Week with Pace SBDC client Geopipe, who was awarded the SBIR/STTR Recipient of the Year; other local SBDC centers whose clients won individual awards; and Darrin Conroy from the New York SBDC Network. In support of Small Business Week, the Pace SBDC also partnered with the City Bar Justice Center and hosted a Business Entity formation workshop to provide guidance on how to form a company and choose the right business structure.
