Brooklyn Expansion Launch Event with Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez
The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is excited to announce that our Brooklyn expansion is now live! The Pace SBDC now includes programming for Brooklyn-based small businesses, including in-depth and confidential one-to-one business advisement (both in-person and virtual) in areas such as access to financing, marketing and sales strategies, government procurement, and business planning.
In January, we co-hosted an expansion launch with Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Small Business, at Pace SBDC small business client Guacuco. Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm kicked off the event by providing an overview of SBDC services and our center’s ongoing work with key community stakeholders. He then introduced Congresswoman Velazquez, who reviewed the important role small businesses play in generating economic opportunity and new jobs, as well as her long-standing advocacy on behalf of small businesses. Lawrence Singleton, Dean of Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, and NYSBDC State Director Sonya Smith were also among those who presented to attendees, which included representatives from the Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Community Board 4 and local business groups, as well as Pace SBDC small business clients.
With our new expansion, we are eager to further grow connections with our public and private sector stakeholders to help generate new jobs and business investment in the Brooklyn communities we serve. Contact the Pace SBDC to arrange a 1:1 session with a business advisor, and with any questions.
