New Small Business Grants available

This week, we are featuring new grant programs awarding AAPI-owned small businesses, Latinx business owners and female-led media projects in NYC. The programs below are only a small subset of available grant funding opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs. $5,000 COVID recovery grants for AAPI-owned small businesses.


The National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship is partnering with UPS to launch the AAPISTRONG Proudly Unstoppable Fund, which will award $5,000 grants to 27 Asian American/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian (AAPI) owned small businesses to assist with COVID-19 pandemic recovery.

To be eligible, businesses must be 51% or more AAPI owned, currently in operation in the United States and not part of a chain or franchise. Further, businesses must operate in a maximum of three locations and be willing to be included in media opportunities related to the program.

Businesses are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as applications will close on September 10, 2021 or when 1,000 submissions have been submitted.

 

Cash awards of $5,000 for Latinx business owners


TikTok and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation have launched the Creciendo Con TikTok Small Business Grant Program, which offers $5,000 grant awards to 30 selected Latinx business owners from across the country.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Latinx who owns at least 51% of the business & is an active principal

  • In business prior to September 15, 2020

  • U.S. citizen or legal resident of the United States or its territories

  • Business must be in good standing and following all applicable laws and regulations

  • Background & credit check will be required

The NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music and Theatre will distribute $2.5M in grant funding to encourage and support the creation of female-led projects in New York City.


The Program will offer grants of up to $50,000 to awardees in categories such as Fiction, Documentary, Music and Theatre Production to cover:

  • Finishing grants for film, television, and digital projects (completed principal photography)

  • Funds for the creation of music recordings or videos

  • Production funds for live or online theatre

The deadline to apply is Monday, November 1 at 5:00 PM EDT.
