PACE SBDC at 2024 NYS Regional MWBE Opportunities Expo Series

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) teamed up with SBDCs from York College & Baruch College on tabling/networking at the 2024 NYS Regional MWBE Opportunities Expo Series. Our team, represented by Business Advisor Joe Peterson, Business Advisor Sandra Cely, Business Advisor Rawle Brown and Counseling Coordinator Roxanna Astorga, had the opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs and discuss the resources available to help them access procurement opportunities.

At the 2024 NYC MWBE Expo in Manhattan, ESD Commissioner Hope Knight unveiled the agency’s “Sail-Thru Summer” initiative, providing a streamlined process to expedite NYS minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE)certification determinations, with eligible participants potentially receiving decisions in as few as 90 days. Commissioner Knight also encouraged small businesses to work with Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) in completing their New York State MWBE certification applications.

At the Pace University Small Business Development Center, our certified business advisors are here to guide existing business owners as well as aspiring entrepreneurs. We offer no-cost, 1:1 business advisory services on topics such as access to capital, government procurement, marketing and sales strategies, and business planning.
