Pace SBDC at Harlem Export & Global Trade Resources Seminar

On December 13, 2024, the U.S. Commercial Service Harlem hosted the Harlem Export & Global Trade Resources Seminar, bringing together businesses, industry experts, and representatives from Federal, state, city, and local export assistance programs. The seminar provided attendees with valuable insights into resources available to help New York based companies expand their reach into international markets.

The NY Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC) was well-represented at the event, with Pace SBDC business advisors, Mr. Pedro Soto and Ms. Sandra Cely joining forces with representatives from Baruch College and Lehman College SBDCs to manage the NYSBDC's table. Mercedes Sanchez Moore, NYSBDC’s Director of International Trade, actively engaged with small business attendees and international trade representatives, sharing her expertise and connecting entrepreneurs with key resources for global expansion.

The day included a range of engaging panels covering export resources, insights on export financing, compliance, market identification, and distributor relationships, including a “Getting Export Ready” panel featuring Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm that underscored the value of leveraging support from resource partners like NYSBDC.

Throughout the event, participants had the chance to connect with representatives from resource partners such as the Export-Import Bank of the United States, Empire State Development, and the Harlem Community Development Corporation.
