Pace SBDC Joins Forces to Empower Small Businesses at NYS Forum
The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was proud to participate in the NYS Small Business Forum held in November 2024 in Albany. Representing our team at the event was business advisor Pedro Soto, who joined forces with SBDCs from Albany, Binghamton, and Lehman College (the Bronx) to connect with small businesses and share resources to support their success.

Hosted by New York State’s Empire State Development, this year’s forum created a vibrant space for networking, learning, and collaboration. small business owners had the chance to meet with state procurement officers to explore contract opportunities and attend capacity-building workshops that delved into crucial topics such as engaging small businesses in mega projects, discretionary opportunities and medium-level projects, navigating capital projects in New York State, obtaining access to capital, and avoiding common pitfalls in NYS certification. These sessions equipped attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to tackle complex challenges and seize emerging opportunities across various sectors.
At Pace SBDC, we’re committed to supporting New York’s small business community. Our certified business advisors provide no-cost, one-on-one guidance on topics such as access to capital, government procurement, marketing strategies, and business planning. Sessions are offered both in English and Spanish and are available at the Brooklyn Public Library’s and New York Public Library’s business branches, in Flatbush at Assemblymember Bichotte Hermelyn’s office, in Industry City (Sunset Park) at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce's Office, in Bushwick, and from the Pace SBDC’s downtown Manhattan office, as well as virtually.
