Webinar Recap: Business Entity Formation for Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs

On March 9th, 2022, the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) co-hosted a webinar on business entity formation with the City Bar Justice Center's Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project which provides free legal support to micro-entrepreneurs of limited economic means.

Pace SBDC Regional Director Andrew Flamm kicked off the webinar by highlighting the importance of operating with a formal business structure and other formal accounting and other business procedures, and then introduced NELP Program Director Akira Arroyo, who reviewed NELP's range of legal services and then introduced attorneys Benjamin Snodgrass and Laura Forman, who led the presentation.

The webinar reviewed the various business entity structures available for small businesses and entrepreneurs, including reference to the pros and cons of each structure, as well as tax implications, filing fees and other requirements. After the presentation, the presenters handled a Q&A session moderated by Renee Goodnow from NYSBDC Central's Office.

We look forward to partnering with NELP on an Intellectual Property Rights for Entrepreneurs webinar on March 22 - click here to register at no cost. And if you are in the early stage of your business idea or need more guidance, contact us to schedule a no-cost, one-to-one business counseling session with a Pace SBDC business advisor.
