CJB Safety Corp

 

Nestor Pinto founded the CJB Safety Corp in Bushwick, Brooklyn, after moving from his native Ecuador. CJB is a retail outlet opened in August 2023 that focuses on selling safety equipment. Vanessa Muevecela, the operations manager of CJB and also from Ecuador, found out that there was an issue with the formation of the CJB entity that was incorporated, both at the federal level and the state level. Vanessa reached out to Nalisha Samlall, the Neighborhood 360 Manager at Riseboro Community Partnership, for help. Nalisha realized that specialist advice was needed and contacted the Pace University Small Business Development Center for assistance.

Pace SBDC Business Advisor Rawle Brown met with Vanessa and, after a review, they decided on a plan of action. Using our contacts, expertise, and resources, the Pace SBDC was able to get the NYS Department of State and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to correct the Corporate Certificate and reissue the EIN with the updated corporate name. CJB is now able to do business and is on a path to success. As a result, CJB is hoping to expand its operation in the future and open more locations.
