FiDi Therapy

The founder and owner of FiDi Therapy, Marcos A. Quinones, has been using evidenced based psychological treatments to help with a wide range of behavioral challenges for over 16 years. Eight years ago Marcos brought his practice to the financial district to serve its burgeoning residential community. Since then Marcos, a graduate of NYU and Columbia in social work and neuroscience respectively, and student of bioinformatics at Harvard, has applied a unique combination of behavioral therapy, neuroscience, and relationship counseling to the neighborhood’s adult community.

Needing to grow to keep up with demand for his service, Marcos sought assistance from the Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and met with met with Pace SBDC Business Advisor, Anish Thakkar to explore sources of working capital. Anish also assisted the client with recruitment strategies, developing a marketing plan and website, and operationalizing accounting procedures.

With Anish’s assistance, Marcos was able to secure two separate lines of credit from Citibank and Chase totaling $80,000, enabling the client to hire two new employees, rebrand the business’ name to FiDi Therapy, and potentially secure a larger office space for further expansion.
