Robofun/Vision Education & Media

Laura Hart, the owner of Robofun, was connected to the Pace SBDC by BICNY while seeking guidance on refinancing existing debt. Robofun, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is a thriving education company that offers innovative technology programs in coding, robotics, animation, and Minecraft for students. Over its 26-year history, Robofun has become a key partner for New York City's Department of Education (NYC DOE), collaborating with over 70 schools and being featured in media outlets such as Fox5NY and GMA.

Laura reached out to the Pace SBDC seeking guidance on refinancing existing debt and accessing additional funds to bridge cash flow gaps caused by the pandemic. Through multiple one-on-one counseling sessions, Pace SBDC Advisor Pedro Soto Jr. worked closely with Laura to rework her funding proposal, identify cash flow pitfalls, and develop a compelling pitch deck. With Pedro’s guidance, Laura was connected with Lendistry, where she successfully secured over a quarter million dollars in financing, to helping the company to grow.

Laura’s testimonial highlights the pivotal role the SBDC played in her success:

“Pedro Soto was amazing to work with. He understood my situation and helped me quickly and with very clear actionable steps that worked! He was attentive, available, and answered emails quickly, concisely, and accurately. Having worked with many support organizations and financial institutions over 26 years, the help that Pedro provided was on a different level: he worked tirelessly on my behalf”
